PSA: Black bears in Missouri
PSA transcript:
If you've been hearing more about black bears in Missouri, you're not imagining it. University of Missouri Extension says the state's bear population has grown to around 1,000 animals. Most bears live in the Ozarks, but young bears sometimes travel long distances and can appear near farms or neighborhoods. If you see a bear, keep your distance and never feed it. Securing trash and other food sources can help prevent problems. This growing population is a conservation success story, and Missouri manages bears through a highly regulated hunting season.
